[COMBATABLES] Weapon Kit

Three benches for a smith’s shop: sharpen a weapon, repair it, and hit something with it to see where it stands.

What is in the kit

  • Sharpening Stone — restores sharpness, which sets your damage.
  • Weapon Repair Bench — restores durability, which decides whether the weapon survives at all.
  • Practice Dummy — takes hits from any SLC weapon so you can test one safely.

Sharpness and durability are different problems

Every weapon carries both, and both fall as you use it.

Sharpness caps your damage. A dull blade does less. Grind it back up whenever you like.

Durability ends the weapon. At zero it breaks and it is gone for good — you buy or craft another. Repair it before it gets close.

A slaughter knife is deliberately fragile: it is meant for one animal, not a campaign. Crafted swords from a high-level smith carry far more durability, so they survive real use.

The dummy

Draw a weapon, go into mouselook, hold the left mouse button and tap a direction — W to strike forward, S back, D right.

Range is fussy. Stand too close and you will swing through it and register nothing. Back off slightly until the hits land, and you will see the damage reported, elemental damage included.

The sharpening stone

Left-click to sit. Do not right-click and sit — that seats you without starting the mini-game.

Hold C to start the wheel, then press the arrow directions it shows you. Get enough right in a row and your sharpness goes up a step; miss, and it tells you so and you go again. Keep going until it reaches maximum.

If holding C types into chat instead, fix it at Ctrl+P → Move & View → “Pressing letter keys affects movement (i.e. WASD)”.

The repair bench

Same rule: left-click, do not right-click and sit.

This one needs the weapon out of your hands and on the table. Detach it, then drag it from your inventory onto the bench — it snaps into position on its own.

Left-click the bench and small rocks start appearing across it. Click each one before it goes. Every hit raises durability; every miss raises nothing. They come fast, and they are meant to.

When it will not go higher, the weapon is at maximum. Stand, pick it up, and re-attach it.
