How Voting works for Ideas

I thought I should make a post about this category and how the Voting system works for new features in SL Colonies!

You will see that on top of every post within the Ideas & Suggestions category, next to the title, is a VOTE button, as displayed in this screenshot:

Basically, this means that for any ideas that you like, you have the opportunity to VOTE on the topic and increasing its score. Putting it higher in the list when categories are filtered by vote counts.

The topics with the highest votes are more likely to be considered (idea-considering) and then planned (idea-planned) and implemented (idea-implemented) into SL Colonies.

However, to keep the system fair, you cannot simply vote on every topic you see. Sure, you can share your support by replying to the topic or recognising a post with  or :+1: emoji reactions, but this means you need to be considerate on which idea you believe is more important to you!

Depending on your trust level on the forum, you have a limited number of votes:

  • TL0 - Colonist = 2 votes
  • TL1 - Resident = 4 votes
  • TL2 - Contributor = 6 votes
  • TL3 - Steward = 8 votes
  • TL4 - Elder = 10 votes

You can withdraw votes from topics you have voted on to free up a vote for a topic you would rather see implemented first.

When an idea has been idea-implemented or idea-rejected, the topic will be closed, and everyones votes will be re-credited to their accounts.

When SL Colonies DEVS are looking into which feature to implement next into the system, we will generally sort topics by vote and the idea-planned tag and work on what the community feels is the most important.

If you have any questions, feel free to ask!
