Hovertext options on everything & script swap

I want to be able to use different, lower impact objects for my parcel. I have limited amount of prim allowance so every prim/Li is very important. I also would like to use objects that match the scene. Old single vendors I can transfer the scripts to my objects but new versions I can’t. this forces me to hide the vender object & put it over the object I want visible. This doubles prim allowance used for a single item. I’ve tried linking the objects to the vendor prims too & this is rejected by SL permissions. Please allow us to use our own objects.
Also, the hover text options would be nice across all objects. My chests wont allow me to turn off the hover text but vendors do allow it. Hover text clouds are messy & immersion breaking.

The new update system allows for the use of custom mesh as long as the root prim remains the same. This means items like the Marketplace and various Stations can now be made with much lower Land Impact.

Because of how SL permissions work, I have two main options:

  1. Make the scripts No Copy, so you can move them into any prim you want — but that means every time there’s an update, you’d need to manually re-script each item, and I wouldn’t be able to use the updater, since No Copy scripts can only update one item at a time.
  2. Keep the scripts Copy-enabled, which lets the updater work — but requires the use of a specific root prim setup.

I realize this changes how vendors are used. You now need to either link the root prim (which is only 0.5 LI — so linking it with another 0.5 LI object still keeps the total at 1 LI), or stretch the invisible root prim around the mesh you want to display. I know this might be inconvenient, especially if you’re using a lot of vendors, but it avoids needing to manually re-script or replace items every time there’s an update. It also opens up more modding possibilities for the community.

Regarding the chests — they are on the roadmap to be updated to the new script system, which will also include better hover text control. I’m the sole programmer, and I’m working through things as quickly as I can while still taking care of my health.

the scripts are already no copy, they are the single item vendors. I’ve tried to put them into another object and it tells me to make the prim/object into an SLC object, whatever that means.

and I’ve tried linking the new single vendors root prim to other objects that are copy mod, SL wont allow it, says ya can’t link no copy to no transfer or something like that.
