I don’t know if there’s been any changes to the compass forage system but I had an idea about expanding it a little…
Just thinking out loud, use what’s useful, please ignore what’s not!
… So, in my RL exploring of Permaculture and Food Forests, a common practice is returning a little back to nature in the way of buddy-plants, where fruit trees have flowers and herbs and such growing under and between their canopies. These flowers and herbs are natural helpers to each other across the spectrum. Things like boosting soil organics and nitrogen content, to attracting the right kind of pollinators and predator insects to eat the pest-insects that otherwise kill gardens etc.
Anyroad, if you haven’t already caught the idea, it’s to include some kind of script or purchasable herb and flower shrubbary that can be rezzed out near fruit trees, as example, or just off by themselves, like a forage patch.
I’m not sure how it would work exactly, but I’m inclined to think it could be that the Forage Patch is long like the blueberry and blackberry bushes, so the compass steers you to one side or the other to randomly find whatever… so long as they’re within x-distance of the shrubbary/forage patch?
Maybe owning more than one forage patch expands the compass directions between those rezzed on the same land? So, could be small land parcel all the way to a full region.
