The fruit trees are gatherables you plant on your own land and pick with a small basket. What comes off them is real food: health, a little energy, and a dent in both your hunger and your thirst at once.
The trees
Five are shown in the video:
- Orange
- Lemon — a little tree
- Lime
- Apple — noticeably larger than the rest
- Fig
Cherry and olive trees are in the same range, though the video does not stop on them. What separates any of these from the next is the fruit and the shape of the tree.
What you need
A small basket, and that is the whole tool list. Every gather spends one point of the basket’s durability, so a day in the orchard costs baskets rather than anything else.
Or nothing at all. Walk up empty-handed and you can eat the fruit where it stands instead — a little health back and a dent in hunger and thirst, but nothing reaches your inventory and the fruit is gone from the tree either way. The basket is what decides whether you are feeding yourself now or stocking a kitchen for later.
Picking
Click the tree with a basket and you take one fruit. Only one — there is no chance of a double from this product, and no rare drop hiding in it.
Each tree carries eight pieces of fruit. Take one and it disappears off the branch, and it is back within an hour. That is the regeneration.
The tree itself does not disappear. A planted orchard stays planted and stays looking like an orchard.
Eating it, or cooking it
You can eat fruit raw, where you stand, and it will do all four things at once — top up health, give back some energy, and take the edge off hunger and thirst.
Or carry it to a cooking station and make something out of it. Cooking recipes in SL Colonies are customisable: you invent them, and what a basket of figs turns into is your business rather than ours.
For region owners
Hold a left click on the tree and release — the long left click — and, as the owner of the object, you get the owner menu. That is where you set a spawn point, exactly as you would on any other gatherable.
The video does not go through the rest of that menu. It is the standard gatherable owner menu, and anything you already know from the veins, bushes and timber trees applies here unchanged.
The product pages are on our site — apple, cherry, fig, lemon, lime, olive and orange.
